Artist Discovery

Building on the MVP Collabs feature, which focused on 1:1 artist recommendations, we wanted to expand the experience. Feedback from artists indicated that while TIDAL recommendations were helpful, they often didn’t meet specific needs. I led the the design of new filtering options, enabling artists to signal their preferences and explore broader search functionality. This effort aimed to make Collabs more personalized and versatile while validating the next steps for the feature’s growth.

UX problems

Inadequate search functionality

Artists lacked the ability to search for collaborators based on specific skills, making it challenging to find suitable partners.

Limited discovery

The TIDAL Collabs MVP relied entirely on data-driven recommendations from streaming data, limiting artists' ability to find collaborators that matched their specific needs.

No filtering options

Without filters, artists struggled to identify key information about potential collaborators, such as availability or location, which hindered their decision-making process.

Solution

I introduced enhanced search and filtering capabilities, enabling artists to efficiently find collaborators based on their specific needs, improving both discovery and usability.
